I’ve set up this site to provide more information for London Green Party members who’ll be voting in the selection for the London Assembly List for the 2012 elections.
We’ll be picking a ranked list of 11 candidates for London-wide list (reflecting the number of seats available through that route). Jenny and Darren have been a great team, and I’d like to be in a strong position to support them in the coming campaign, part of a team working together to collect every possible vote.
I’m delighted that my candidacy has been endorsed by Jean Lambert MEP and Cllr Maya de Souza.
The next few years are going to be tough for everybody, and particularly for the more disadvantaged communities of London. The Green Party needs to be as strong as possible on the London Assembly (and elsewhere) to speak up for them in the way no other party will – not to talk about “social mobility”, but “social justice”: the right of everyone to a warm, decent home, security from fear of penury, and most importantly of all, hope for the future.
These are also critical years for the globe – if we don’t act rapidly on greenhouse gases the future looks bleak. London can be, should be, a trailblazer, and a model for others to emulate.
You’ll find here quite a bit about me, and you’re welcome to leave questions, which I’ll respond to ASAP (comments are moderated so may take a little time to appear). Or if you’d like to have a chat please call me on 07967-417859, or email natalie.bennett@greenparty.org.uk. (I’m not available Monday daytimes or Tuesday mornings.)
